I am a published author and I also run an a community autism program. I have two children on the autism spectrum – one who was diagnosed at age 4 and one who was diagnosed at 16 years old. I am a constant researcher for main-stream and alternative medicines and sciences to aid in the wellness and health of my children.
I have a hand’s on approach with people I interact with on a daily basis. – both at school and in the community. I am very involved in my son’s and daughter’s education. I am also involved in setting up and supporting a special needs program at our church. Over the years, I have made many connections in the autism community both personally and professionally. This has helped tremendously with areas I have chosen to focus on that have made a difference in my children’s lives. I have been able to assist in making modifications and needed changes to community activities so that my son can successfully participate in them. The successes that have been achieved by both my children over the years have been a result of consistent hard work from many people who have supported us as well as finding the right kind of community resources that have helped achieve optimal health and success.
My goal is always for my children to be happy, healthy functioning members of the community.
My daughter currently attends OCAD University and my son is entering his last year of high school.
